EDUCATION IS THE BEST WEAPON - Chanakya Neeti

Welcome guys to The Daily Sameer again. How are you all? Hope you are doing well in your homes. This is my third post of Chanakya Neeti's thoughts. In my previous post Never Give Up, we have talked about Chanakya's thought on consistency. Today I am going to share his another quote on Education. What is the value of education for Chanakya? So let's start without any further delay. But before starting I bow to him with the respect that he has given us so much through his thoughts. 

 

Chanakya Quotes # 4: Education is The Best Weapon

In this quote, Chanakya said Education a best friend. This is really true because the role of our best friend in our life is to support us in every worse situation & to protect us from doing anything wrong. A real friend should guide us with what is wrong and what is right? Education also does the same for us. It also makes us able to choose between wrong and right. Nowadays if we tell anyone about Education then they immediately start thinking of marks or grades. We decide anyone's educational level by his grades or marks while it is wrong.  It's getting very bad with our society because Education is not only about acquiring knowledge but to implement it. Suppose you want to learn to drive a car and you started getting all the knowledge about it. Now, can you start driving it on the road without any practical attempts? Obviously not. But Why? You have got all the required information about how to drive a car but even you can't because it's not about getting knowledge it's about implementing it. So we should remove curtains from our eyes and stop thinking education is only getting good marks in the examination. Pardon me I strayed from my topic but I found it important to share it with you. I shall discuss it in more detail someday.

Chanakya further added that an educated person is respected everywhere and it beats the external beauty. It is the ultimate which gains respect from society. People who are educated get better respect than people who are just beautiful. There is also a verse from Sanskrit similar to this.

विद्वत्वं च नृपत्वं च न एव 

तुल्ये कदाचन्।

स्वदेशे पूज्यते राजा विद्वान् 

सर्वत्र पूज्यते॥

vidwatam cha nripatwam cha na eva tulye kadachana |

swadese pujyate raja vidwan sarwatra pujyate ||

MEANING:-

There can never be a comparison between a scholar and a king because a king is respected only in his kingdom while a scholar is respected everywhere.
