It's because of the focus. Now, all the sun rays are concentrated at a point and cause the paper to be burnt. We saw that without focus the same amount of sunlight couldn't harm the paper and when all rays are concentrated paper is burnt.

Same with human beings we have the same amount of strength or capability but if we aren't focused enough then we can't do anything.

Let me tell you about an incident between Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. We all know that Bill is from the Tech field and Warren is from the Stock field. They both don't like each other but one of their mutual friends invited them to dinner.

Now, I'm going to share with you some tips to increase focus while studying but I ensure that these aren't the only five ways to enhance your focus. There are also some methods that I'm sharing with you which worked for me and hope that these will work for you as well.

1. Make Your Environment Clean/ Create Your Own Space

Humans are social animals and our brains can be affected by our surroundings very much. Have you ever wondered why our brain got calm when we connect ourselves with nature? It's just because of the environment if you are leaving in a good environment your thoughts will also be good, and you will have more clarity in your mind.


So, wherever you study just clean the surroundings. Your study table should be neat and clean and avoid any extra items, even books and notebooks. Keep only those books which you are studying. Don't mess up your table with extra items because it can distract your mind.


The second is fragrance. A good fragrance can change your mood drastically. If you have a good smell you'll have positive thoughts and your brain would be in a happy state and you will be able to focus more than usual. So, if possible make your room fragrant. You can use room spray or you can light some scented incense stick.



2. Avoid Social Media/Any Distracting Agent

I'm damn sure we all know this point but we all do it. I can understand that in this era of so much hype about social media it's very difficult to stay away from social media. So, I'm also not saying you that just close your social media and work like hell because I know it's not going to work.

How we can use social media even without getting distracted by it?

Now the question arises of how we can't get distracted by social media even after using this.
So, if you are reading through books, put your phone in flight mode and keep it outside your study area.

Second, if you are studying through your phones or laptops then what you can do is just off the notifications of your phone's all apps, which you think can distract you and break your focus.

The third condition is for someone who doesn't have social media problems. They have another type of distraction which they can't even decide that they are a distraction for them at that point. I come in this category. 

Suppose, I'm learning something from YouTube and suddenly some recommendations pop up and we click on that recommendations unintentionally, till we realize that we have wasted our most time.

If the recommended video is informative which you like to view most of the time then you won't even realize that you have wasted your time.
For example, if you came to YouTube to learn some concepts of Organic Chemistry and after then you started watching videos of the stock market, cryptocurrency, etc that's what happens with me then you don't even realize that your time has got wasted neither you could learn about Organic Chemistry nor about the stock market, cryptocurrency, etc 


So, it depends on you how can control your fluctuating brain and control yourself on clicking to other videos as well.


3. Use the Pomodoro Technique

One of the best methods to enhance your focus is to use the Pomodoro technique. For the guys who don't what the hell I'm talking about then let me tell you about this. However, this can be another topic to discuss but here I'm describing it in short. 

In this technique, we take frequent small breaks and regain our focus again and again. Like, if we are studying for 25 minutes consistently with deep focus then we take 5 minutes of work and refreshes our mind as we refresh our computer to work smoothly.

This means if you do the 4 sets of this technique then you have 1 hour of focused work with 20 minutes of breaks which is necessary. One of the main reasons for 25 minutes of work is that in scientific research it is found that the human mind is made to be focused for 25 minutes only after then it is getting distracted by other things.

That's why we suggest you do 25minutes of work and then take 5 minutes of breaks, But it really comes down to what works best for you.


4. Make Everything Organized


The fourth point that we are going to discuss 'to stay focused while studying' is MEO. Don't worry this is the short form that I have given it means Make Everything Organized. This is because organized things make us organized.

Before going to study or any other work first create the To-Do-List and prioritize the work according to the needs of the time. 

And after the completion of each task take the list and mark completed in that and just forget about that task and focus on another.

Here, after the completion of the task, it's necessary to reward yourself. Give yourself some reward because rewards motivate us to do more and more. The reward can be anything your favourite music, your favourite ice cream, your favourite chocolate or you can just take a break and walk for a few minutes and talk to your friends, your family anyone.

After the reward, you can go back to your studies or your work and complete another task but all the things that you are going to do should be well-organized because it will make you more efficient in your work or your studies as well.


5. Avoid Multitasking

The greatest enemy of the focus I think is Multitasking. It destroys our focus very badly without even letting us know that we got distracted. Believe me or not it's the greatest hidden enemy that we are unaware of and we have to fight with this to make focus the best friend.

If you are doing anything just do that don't try to do another thing, of course, you can do it but please don't do it because it won't let you know and will make you the monkey mind. Like, a monkey jumps from one tree to another then another then another.

If you sit to do one task then your mind will remind you of another task then if you start doing that your focus won't be on this task completely means to say that physically you are in that task but mentally you are in the previous task.

Let me tell you a story, to study the human brain Scientists gathered some people and divided them into two groups. And told everyone to make sketches of anything they want everyone started making the sketches from both the groups.


After some time Scientists interrupted the first group and called them to solve some puzzles and left the other group to complete the sketches after completing the sketches then the Scientists told this group to solve the puzzles. 


They were surprised that the second group was able to perform better than the first group. Then they asked the first group why they were not able to perform better everyone's reply was the same. They said they don't puzzle wasn't so difficult but they were still thinking about the sketches they were making and the second group completed the sketches so they were able to focus on the puzzle better than them.


So, you can see that how shifting from one task to another without completing it damages our concentration. That's why if you have started some task make sure to complete it and after then shift to another. 

Let me give you another example suppose you are stuck in the river and two boats are crossing the going to the banks then what will you do? Will you take one boat or both to cross the river?
Obviously, you will take one of them and cross the river. You can't ride two horses at the same time same you can't cross the river with two boats at the same time likewise you can't do multiple things at the same time.

That's why try to focus on one thing at a time after completing it you can shift to another.


 

6. Bonus Point:- MEDITATE  daily

Let me tell you the one more bonus point 'to stay focused' which is to meditate daily.  This will not only help you to enhance your focus but it will help you to deal with all types of problems that you are facing in your day to day life.  

Doing meditation can not only help you to enhance your focus it will also improve your IQ, and your overall persona and will help you to become a better version of yourself.

    HOW TO MEDITATE

Meditation is not so complex that we have made them it is just focusing on yourself. Here telling you some tips to meditate for beginners that you can start to do.
  • Sit comfortably and easily you can sit in any posture that you want if possible try to keep your spine erect if not then ignore this. 
  • Close your eyes 
  • Take a deep breath in slowly and then exhale it gradually. Do this 3 to 5 times and then let everything happens on its own
  •  After then feel the inhalation and exhalation of the breath. Just try to focus on your breath nothing else. 
  • You will get distracted by the thoughts don't worry let it be just welcome every thought don't try to avoid any thoughts forcefully. Welcome, all the thoughts that come to the mind, they come and go. They don't come to harm you so don't worry about that.
  • And according to your comfortability, you can open your eyes. There are not so hard rules that you have to sit for 15 minutes, 20 minutes or anything else. Sit for as long as you can as per your comfortability.
This was as simple as that I won't tell you much about Meditation I would say one thing just experience it on your own.
